London-born DJ/producer Chris Simmonds has been involved with, and directly influenced by music as far back as 1978 when his brother and uncle were major players in the British funk scene. By the time he was 21 he could be found doing the graveyard shift at Time Radio spinning Soul, Jazz Funk and Rare Grooves. Not long after that he met Jack Smooth, who shared a common interest in producing house music, and the two started up Wax Factory records.

After many releases on Wax Factory and his own Baby Blue label, Chris took some time out to do some musical soul-searching and discovered new music and fresh sounds around the world that would totally change his view as to what he wanted to accomplish with his productions. He returned to London and founded the now-infamous Cross Section Records, which has since been host to releases by Mr. Magoo & Dave Ruhi, Tim Deluxe, Alex Marsh, DJ Assassin, Mike Huckaby and his own floor-filling musical excursions.

Chris currently spends his time DJing worldwide, overseeing the quality control and developing new talent for Cross Section Records
