Surrounded with the music of salsa, merengue, classical and jazz as a child, Carlos Mendoza grew up with his love for music deeply ingrained. But then, around 1985, he discovered House music. However, it wasn’t really until one fateful night at A Rave Called Sharon in San Francisco, in 1991, that the real addiction took hold. He got his hands on turntables a few years later, and as he was carefully crafting his record collection, he began playing at House nights here and there in Seattle, Wa.

Raised in Portland, Oregon, Peter Christianson moved to Canada to study audio engineering and production. After graduation, he quickly put his new knowledge to work practicing as an engineer in Vancouver. During this time Peter gained a breadth of experience working on everything from jazz and rock to funk and pop. It would be more then three years, before Peter moved back to the states and began producing his own electronic music.

At the very beginning of 2000, Peter moved to Seattle as the Manager and Head Buyer of Platinum Records. It was here that he met Carlos, his current production partner. After lots of discussion and even more drinks, Peter and Carlos began producing together as LawnChair Generals.

Their very first experiment yielded their first release on Viva Recordings, "The Great Escape". The pair was pleasantly surprised when this release garnered the praise of national and worldwide heavyweights alike. Charted in publications by the likes of Mark Farina and Colin Dale of the BBC, and broken out on dance floors by Johnny Fiasco, DJ Heather, Doc Martin, Rob Mello and more all over the world, the release has garnered this pair more attention than they expected. Now LawnChair Generals have released their second original E.P. entitled U Dirty on Doc Martin’s latest imprint, Westbound, which has already been licensed to compilations by DJ Heather and Hipp-e and Halo.
