To-ka Project are a Nottingham trio of like minded DJ/producers who cut their teeth on the early 90's midland freeparty scene with the likes of Smokescreen, Breeze and DIY Soundsystems. Started by Steve Walker and Andy Riley in 1994, To-ka Project had a string of EPs and remixes on DIY's 'Strictly 4 Groovers' label where Steve spent two years as an in house producer. In 1996, joined by Jay Cowley, the boys decided it was time to start their own studio and together with Laurence Ritchie the plan started to come
together.

Since then, To-ka Project have released EPs on Viva!, Guidance, Naked Music NYC, Transport, Drop Music, Silver Network, Earth Records & Glasgow Underground and have done remixes for Fred Everything and Crash. In 1999 Jay and Andy completed a sucsessful tour of the U.S. and continue to DJ regularly both locally and internationally.
